LEGO rejects Super Smash Bros. concept. Ultimate Fan Premium

LEGO Ideas allows fans to showcase concepts for different LEGO sets, and the site has even led to real sets based on the video games being produced. Unfortunately, this will not be the case for a presentation based on Super Smash Bros.. A fan of the Nintendo Switch recently submitted a design based on the game’s Battlefield stage, but it was rejected by LEGO for copyright reasons. The fan, who goes to LampLighter_ on Reddit, recently shared the design on the game’s subreddit, and Nintendo fans are sure to be disappointed that this didn’t work out!

Pictures of the stage can be found in the Reddit post embedded below.

Made a Lego Battlefield set (unfortunately rejected on Lego Ideas due to copyright) from

It’s definitely a shame that this LEGO set of ideas didn’t come to fruition! LampLighter_ did a really great job capturing the design of the Battlefield stage, and there are a lot of nice touches that evoke the actual stage. It seems that fans of Smash Bros. They’d totally pay to have this officially, and some fans on the subreddit are already asking for instructions so they can try building the collection for themselves.

While LEGO will not make sets based on Super Smash Bros. Any time soon, the company has been making kits based on some of the fighters from the game. The company released a set based on Sonic the Hedgehog earlier this year, which was actually based on the LEGO Ideas demo. LEGO also has Minifigs from Steve and Alex from Maine Craft. Last but not least, there were a lot of combos based on the Super Mario franchise. Unfortunately, Sonic and Minecraft sets use standard Minifigs, while Mario sets use unique character designs. As such, fans couldn’t really pit all of these characters against each other, as they could Super Smash Bros.. For now, we’ll just have to wait patiently and see if more of the game crew is made in the form of Minifig!

Super Smash Bros. Available exclusively on Nintendo Switch. You can check out all of our previous coverage of the game here.
